Meet our Physicians Our Board Certified Physicians Dr. David Hoyt Dr. Hoyt is one of the original team of physicians of FHP, which originated in 1995, and has practiced in the Grove City and Mercer, PA areas since 1984. Dr. Hoyt received his D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, and interned at Brentwood Hospital in Ohio. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Hoyt is Deputy Coroner for Mercer County, the past President of the Mercer County Medical Society. Dr. David Hefner Dr. Hefner has been in private practice in Grove City, PA since 1999. He has recently served as Chief of Staff of Grove City Medical Center. Dr. Hefner received his D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed his internship from New York Methodist--Cornell Medical Center and his residency from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Edward Smith Dr. Smith has been in private practice in Grove City for nearly 25 years, and is one of the founding partners of Family Healthcare Partners. Dr. Smith received his M.D. from University of Pennsylvania in 1980 and completed his Family Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Family Practice, is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and has a certificate of added qualifications in geriatrics. Dr. Christopher Sprando Dr. Chris Sprando is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine, and completed his residency in 2006 from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center St. Margaret Hospital. Dr. Sprando is Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians. Thomas Kevin A. Thomas, D.O. has been with Family Healthcare Partners since fall of 2007. Most recently, Thomas served as Clinical Assistant Professor with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. Additionally, Thomas served as staff physician at the Girard Family Health Center. Thomas also served as Family Practice Residency Program faculty of the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Temple University School of Medicine, where he was also staff physician, from 2001-2004. Thomas was a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency in Family Practice at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple University School of Medicine in Pittsburgh. Elizabeth Clancey, CRNP Beth has been employed as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner with Family Healthcare Partners since 1997, and currently sees patients in the Harrisville office. She had worked in the Emergency Department at Grove City Medical Center and Butler Hospital. Beth holds a MSN from LaRoche College, and a BSN from Slippery Rock University. Beth is certified by the American Association of Nurses Practitioners, and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. He is a graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College with a Physician's Assistant (BS in Medical Science). Mark also graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BS in Health Science with an emphasis in athletic training. Certified by American Academy of Physician's Assistants, Mark is also a member of the PA Society of Physician's Assistants. An avid runner, Mark won the Boston Marathon in his age division in 2006. Linda Mattocks, CRNP Linda has been with Family Healthcare Partners since 1996, and with the Mercer Osteopathic Clinic from 1971 to 1996. She is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, having received her MSN from the University of Pittsburgh. Linda is a member of several professional associations, including the American Nurses Association, and the Northwest PA Nurse Practitioners Association.
