FHP Pediatrics

The caring staff of Family Healthcare Partners Pediatrics strives to extend exceptional care to children. We are dedicated to treating infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and are committed to keeping them healthy. We promote safety and preventative medicine, and deliver prompt efficient care for illness and injuries.

Dr. David Hefner, Dr. Kevin Gerlach, Kelly Barton, PA-C, and the entire staff of FHP Pediatrics are part of the Family Healthcare Partner network, a private primary care group of five (5) physicians, three (3) Physician's Assistants, two (2) Certified Nurse Practitioners, and fifty (50) clinical, reception and billing staff. Family Healthcare Partners serves the communities surrounding the crossroads of Interstates 79 and 80 including Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, and Venango counties in Western Pennsylvania.

Grove City

Dr. David Hefner has been in private practice since 1999. He recently served as Chief of Staff of Grove City Medical Center. He received his D.O. from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, internship from New York Methodist-Cornell Medical Center and residency from the University of Iowa Hospitals. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He and his wife, Gretchen, have three children.

Kelly Barton,PA-C has been with Family Healthcare Partners since 1998 as a Physician's Assistant.  She graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College with a Bachelor of Medical Science, Physician's Assistant. Kelly holds a BS in Medical Biology from the University of New England, Biddeford, Maine.Kelly is board certified by the National Commission on Certification Physician Assistant. Kelly is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant, and Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistant.

Slippery Rock

Dr. Kevin Gerlach has recently joined our division of pediatrics in 2009. Dr. Gerlach received his D.O. from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his internship and his residency from Winthrop University Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, NY. Dr. Gerlach is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Gerlach is the physician for the Slippery Rock Area School District. He and his wife, Krista, have four children and reside in the Slippery Rock area.
